1、一般過去時的謂語形式

動詞為實義動詞時，謂語用(yong)動詞的過去(qu)式(shi)，否定句(ju)(ju)在原形前加(jia)did not ，野(ye)問句(ju)(ju)加(jia)助動詞did.

如：

John suddenly fell ill yesterday.（fall-fell-fallen）.

My mother didn't look well when I saw her last time.

It happened after four days. Did they go to Canada last week?

Nothing happened since then. He went out just now.（just now 剛才）

A book that cost a few jiao several years ago is worth 30 yuan now.

2、一般過去時(shi)(shi)表示過去某個(ge)時(shi)(shi)間發生的動作或情況，包括過去的習慣性動作。常與表示過去的時(shi)(shi)間狀(zhuang)語連用(yong)。

如:a minute ago，yesterday, last week, in 1990, during thenight，in those days. 用(yong)過(guo)去時(shi)時(shi) ，說“過(guo)多少(shao)時(shi)間之(zhi)后”，一般用(yong) after，不用(yong)in.

3、動詞為be ， 主語是I 或第三人稱單數時，謂語用was ，其他情況用were.

如：

They were classmates when they were ten years old. She was once a doctor butnow she has retired .

Why were you absent from school yesterday?

4、動(dong)詞為have 時，肯定(ding)(ding)句謂語用had.表示(shi)“有”時，否定(ding)(ding)句可用had not，疑(yi)問句將had

提至(zhi)主(zhu)語前面，也可與have作實義(yi)動詞時(shi)相同，即(ji)否定句(ju)用didn't have ， 疑問句(ju)加助動詞did.

如:

They didn't have any money left and they couldn't afford the house.

She didn't have any rest at noon and continued to work.

Did you have dinner with Mr. Wang at that famous restaurant the day beforeyesterday?
